The Mud on Boots Project


Sanctuary Nature Foundation is looking for a dynamic Project Coordinator with excellent communication and organisation skills. Our ideal candidate is a people person who works meticulously, loves Nature, and embodies the spirit of collaboration. This is a challenging role that requires creativity, domain knowledge and, above all, self-motivation! The Project Coordinator serves as the single-point contact for grassroots conservationists selected to the Mud on Boots Project, and leads all aspects of the programme.

Remuneration: INR 4,00,000-6,00,000 p.a.

The job will require you to:

  • Identify conservation challenges and strategise solutions with each Project Leader as per their requirement and the requirements of the landscape.
  • Forge productive partnerships and seek opportunities for Project Leaders, present and past.
  • Write relevant content for the magazine, website, social media, and donor reports.
  • Liaise with government authorities and other stakeholders on pertinent conservation issues and campaigns.
  • Manage bi-monthly reports, accounts and paperwork related to the project.
  • Mediate the Mud on Boots WhatsApp group and keep it active.
  • Visit one or more Project Leaders at their field site every year.
  • Network with conservationists, researchers and activists across the country.

Job Criteria

  • Proficiency in English and at least one regional language.
  • Evidence of excellent written communication skills.
  • Evidence of domain knowledge - a basic understanding of environmental concerns, organisations, campaigns, projects and laws is expected.
  • Ability to work independently with self-direction.
  • A keen interest in nurturing a flexible and compassionate programme.
