Tibetan Wolf
<p><em>The mammals of high-altitude Himalaya are well-equipped to handle winter temperatures. The Tibetan wolf </em>Canis lupus chanco<em>, photographed at Tso Kar, Ladakh (where temperatures can drop well below -230C), is usually found at elevations above 4,000 masl., and is well adapted to this low-oxygen environment.</em></p>
