Tanmoy Ghosh, February 2008, Sundarbans, West Bengal – Washed Out Future?: One of the most secure populations of tigers in the world was always believed to reside in the Sundarbans, because their habitat was largely inaccessible to humans. Now, with rising seas, these tigers could be the first mega-casualties of climate change. Of course, with the tigers will vanish the hopes of millions residing in the 24 Parganas, who have ‘climate refugee’ written into their future.
