Business As Usual
Partha Pal, June 2007, Kolkata – Business as Usual: The world as we know it is about to change, yet business as usual remains the order of the day for India. This is a scene from Kolkata when just 100 mm. of rain fell. Students’ entrance exams were disrupted. Office goers put on a brave face and coped as best they could. But few citizens actually made the connection between faulty developmental policies and the increased frequency and intensity of floods.
