Tawny coster butterfly Acraea terpsicore
A freshly emerged tawny coster butterfly Acraea terpsicore dries its wings after emerging from a five
or six day-pupal slumber. Its siblings can be seen in various stages of growth. The colours and patterns of tawny coster pupas change over time. When newly spawned, they are white with orange dotted black stripes. But within five days they sport a dark thorax and wing cases, with salmon orange abdomens.
