A Flying Jewel

A Flying Jewel

What tigers are to forests and eagles to the skies, dragonflies and damselflies are to their chosen wetland homes… predators par excellence! These voracious predators have a hunting success rate of 97 per cent, as they hunt in the wing! Seen here is a male peacock jewel damselfly Rhinocypha fenestrella photographed in Garo hills, Meghalaya, displaying its glittering metallic purple wings.
