Assistant Editor

Sanctuary Nature Foundation invites motivated individuals to apply for the open position of Assistant Editor (remote working). We are looking for skilled writers/editors who have a keen interest in wildlife conservation and a desire to be involved in India’s environmental movement. 

Joining date: October 1, 2021 (flexible)
Remuneration: INR 3,00,000-5,00,000 p.a.

Job Description

This role will entail:

• Editorial for Sanctuary Asia and Sanctuary Cub
• Work with designers on the magazine layout on Adobe InDesign and Teamviewer/AnyDesk
• Communicate with writers on their articles and plan monthly editorial schedule
• Write regular columns for both magazines and website
• Plan and create periodic newsletters on Mailchimp
• Assist in maintaining our social media handles 
• Write copy for our events, including scripts, invitations and press releases
• Coordinate with website developers and Sanctuary staff to upload content, identify errors and generally improve web presence 

Skills Needed:
Aside from having proven excellent writing/editing skills, candidates must ideally have an eye for design and show basic proficiency in:

• Canva / Adobe Photoshop
• Website management
• Adobe InDesign
• Mailchimp (preferred, but not compulsory)

Eligibility: Graduates of mass communication, journalism, English literature, liberal arts, biology, sociology with 1-3 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply. A keen eye for grammar and a penchant for writing are an absolute must.
