Deadly flamingos

Deadly flamingos: The forest ghost plant’s delicate flowers belie its hidden parasitic nature. Beneath the forest floor, it inserts its haustorium into the root systems of plants from various families, including Zingiberaceae and Poaceae, to extract nutrients and water. Leafless and lacking chlorophyll, this parasitic plant relies entirely on its host for survival.
