Black-throated Bushtit

This tiny Black-throated Bushtit Aegithalos concinnus makes for a striking portrait in an Uttarakhand orchard. The world is rapidly changing... urbanity creeps relentlessly towards our wildest spaces. From the once undisturbed tribal forests of the Andaman and Nicobar islands, to the furthest reaches of the Himalaya, rapid land use changes threaten the survival of forest specific species. Studies confirm a loss of over 50 per cent of birds, pollinators and insect-eating birds as a result of forest loss.
